It all began with the acclaimed documentary “Mark: A Call to Action” the inspiring story of Dr. Mark Bookman, a fully disabled scholar and activist from Bryn Mawr, PA, and how his tireless efforts helped raise awareness and positively impacted the lives of not only disabled persons, but also children, seniors and vulnerable populations in the United States, Japan, and other countries around the world.
Many of us dream of a world where everyone can thrive, regardless of our abilities. That's where the Mark Bookman Foundation steps in. Our passionate non-profit organization enhances community-based disability services and strives to ensure that individuals with disabilities live empowered and independent lives.
Dr. Mark Bookman was a guiding light for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, cementing his legacy as an advocate for the disability community and designing a road map for global access of the Paralympic Games and beyond. Enjoy this TED Talk from 2019.
